    3. FAQ

The A7VO is an axial piston pump built on the bent-axis principle. The drive shaft turns a cylinder block, and the piston stroke depends on the swivel angle of the rotary group. Tilt the axis further, and each piston travels further, so flow goes up. Bring it back toward zero and flow drops, all without changing engine speed.

Compared with a swashplate pump, a bent-axis unit tends to be more tolerant of shock loading and high drive-shaft loads. That's useful on vehicles that lift, brake and swing heavy masses all day. It uses a tapered-piston transmission and is designed for open-circuit hydrostatic drives in mobile and industrial applications.

Where an A7VO fits on the Kamag vehicle

Kamag's yard vehicles typically use a hydrostatic drive, which the company credits for very low maintenance needs. Hydrostatic travel drives are usually closed-circuit, so an open-circuit pump like the A7VO is more likely to serve the working hydraulics:

Lifting and lowering swap-body forks or fifth-wheel lift systems

    Steering and axle-lock circuits

    Ballast, outrigger or stabiliser functions

Auxiliary and power-pack circuits on modular transporters

A variable pump is the right tool here because these loads are intermittent. A fixed pump burns power and heats oil while the operator waits. A variable pump idles at low displacement and delivers flow only when a function calls for it. That means less fuel burned and less heat in the tank.

    A word on fitment

Don't order by machine name alone. Check the pump nameplate, the vehicle serial number and the hydraulic diagram. Match the full A7VO type code (size, control, shaft, flange, ports, seal material) before buying anything.

Choosing the Right Control: LR, DR, HD, EP

The pump's control decides how it behaves under load, so choose it deliberately. The Series 63 lineup includes LR (power controller), LA1 (power controller with hydraulic proportional override), DR (pressure controller), HD (proportional hydraulic) and EP (proportional electric) controls.

LR, power control. Holds torque demand on the engine roughly constant by trading pressure for flow. It's a good fit for diesel-driven vehicles where you don't want the pump stalling the engine.

DR, pressure control. The pump de-strokes when system pressure hits the set point. It's simple, efficient and common on steering or clamp circuits.

HD, hydraulic proportional. Displacement follows a pilot pressure signal from the operator's valve.

EP, electric proportional. A current signal sets displacement. This suits machines with electronic controls or telematics, and it's the natural choice where the vehicle controller manages flow.

    Installation and Commissioning

    Suction line

Cavitation is the number-one killer of open-circuit pumps. Keep the inlet line short and large-bore, avoid sharp bends and restrictive strainers, and stay within the data sheet's suction limits.

    Case drain and initial fill

Fill the housing with clean hydraulic fluid through the case drain port before the first start, and route the drain line to the tank below the fluid level. Running a pump dry, even briefly, damages the bearings and piston surfaces.

    Fluid and filtration

Use the fluid category the data sheet permits for your pump. Keep viscosity in the range Rexroth recommends and filter tightly. Aim for ISO 4406 cleanliness at or better than the level in the fluid data sheet. Contamination is behind more pump failures than manufacturing defects are.

Q1: Is the Rexroth A7VO an open-circuit or closed-circuit pump?

A1: Open-circuit. Closed-circuit hydrostatic drives typically use a different Rexroth family, such as the A4VG or A10VG.

Q2: Which control should I specify for a replacement?

A2: Match what's installed. Changing from LR to EP, for example, alters how the pump interacts with the circuit and the vehicle's electronics.

Q3: What is the price and delivery time of the A7VO hydraulic pump for the Kamag Engineering Equipment?

A3: The specific price and delivery time will depend on the equipment model or specific product model you provide.

Q4: How to purchase an A7VO hydraulic pump for the Kamag Engineering Equipment?

A4: You can visit https://www.baolilaihydraulic.com/contact/ to contact us and purchase our products through various methods.
