    3. FAQ

Unlike variable displacement pumps that adjust flow based on demand, the T6DRM is a fixed displacement unit. At a given RPM, it moves a constant volume of fluid per revolution.

Why choose fixed over variable in a mobile machine?

For simplicity, cost-effectiveness, and reliability in open-loop systems. Think of auxiliary functions: a concrete mixer’s drum rotation, a sweeper’s broom drive, or a tractor’s continuous PTO. These require steady, predictable flow—not constant pressure regulation.

    Design Anatomy

Most mobile pumps fail due to internal leakage or vane tip wear. The T6DRM counters this with three engineering pillars:

    1.The Double-Lobe Cam Ring

Standard vane pumps use a single elliptical ring. The Denison double-lobe ring creates two pressure pulses per revolution instead of one. This cancels radial forces on the rotor and halves hydraulic ripple. The result: quieter operation (often 75–78 dB at full load) and longer bearing life.

    2.Microprecision Cartridge Kit

The pump’s guts—vanes, rotor, ring, and pressure plates—are replaceable as a single cartridge. You can rebuild the T6DRM in the field without pulling the pump from the vehicle’s PTO, assuming accessible design. This drives down total cost of ownership (TCO).

    3.Balanced Hydraulic Forces

High pressure pushes vanes outward, but internal ports route fluid to both sides of the cartridge. This minimizes side-loading on the drive shaft, allowing direct mounting to engines or gearboxes without a flexible coupling in many installations.

    Installation & Maintenance-Avoiding Common Pitfalls

Even a robust pump fails fast with improper care. Follow these expert guidelines:

    ✅ Do:

Use a suction strainer (150–200 μm nominal)-not a fine filter on the inlet.

Keep inlet velocity below 0.8 m/s-oversize suction hoses to avoid cavitation.

Match shaft alignment within 0.25 mm TIR for direct couplings.

Pre-fill the pump case before first start to prevent dry-running.

    ❌ Don’t:

Run continuous relief at >50% duty cycle-use an unloader valve if needed.

Exceed 30 bar inlet vacuum-the double-lobe ring does not tolerate aeration.

Mix the cartridge kit with non-Denison parts-aftermarket vanes cause rapid ring failure.

    Maintenance schedule:

First oil change: 100 hours (break-in)

Thereafter: 1,000 hours or annually (severe dust)

Cartridge kit life: typically 6,000–10,000 hours in mobile service

Q1:How does the T6DRM compare to a Bosch Rexroth or Eaton gear pump?

A1:The T6DRM generally offers **lower pressure ripple** and **better efficiency at high pressure** (>200 bar) but has a lower max speed (3,000 vs 4,000+ rpm for some gear pumps). Choose T6DRM for noise-sensitive or high-pressure continuous applications.

Q2:The pump is whining at low speed. Why?

A2:Check inlet restriction (clogged strainer, undersized hose) or low oil level. Whining at 400–600 rpm is often cavitation, not pump failure. Increase inlet line diameter to 1.5x pump port size.

    Q3:How to purchase a T6DRM hydraulic pump?
