The T12 is a bent-axis, two-displacement hydraulic motor built by Parker Hannifin's Mobile Controls Division (manufactured at the company's Trollhättan, Sweden facility, the same site responsible for the V12 and V14 motor families). It derives directly from the well-proven V12 bent-axis piston motor, but instead of offering continuously variable displacement, the T12 shifts between exactly two fixed points: maximum and minimum displacement. Parker markets it explicitly as a track-drive motor, and the design reflects that focus.

    How the Two-Position Control Works

The control logic on a standard HO-controlled T12 is straightforward, which appeals to OEM designers who want reliability over sophistication.

    The Pilot Signal

Pilot pressure enters at port X5. Below the threshold pressure — 15 bar on the standard configuration — the motor stays at maximum displacement, delivering maximum torque at reduced speed. Once pilot pressure at X5 exceeds that threshold, an internal setting piston shifts the cylinder barrel to minimum displacement, and the motor delivers reduced torque at higher speed. There's no need for an external electronic controller; the shift is purely hydraulic.

    Fast vs. Slow Response

Parker offers the control in two response variants:

HO T 01 I — the standard "fast" response, tuned with standard nozzles for quick displacement changes.

HO T 02 I — an optional "slow" response, which smooths the transition between max and min displacement to reduce shock loading in applications sensitive to sudden speed changes.

    Optional Displacement Limiters

Both frame sizes can be ordered with max and/or min displacement limiters, letting an OEM cap the effective displacement range for a specific machine's drivetrain rather than using the motor's full mechanical range.

    Cartridge Design and Installation

Because the T12 is a cartridge-flange motor, it shares its main port and mounting-flange pattern with the F12 and V12 motor families. That compatibility matters for OEMs standardizing final-drive housings across multiple motor options.

    Key Installation Features

Dual side ports on the end cap. This design keeps the installed length short compared to a rear-ported equivalent, which matters in tight track-drive gearbox packaging.

Shared accessory valve program. The same brake valves, pressure relief valves, and flushing valves developed for the F12/V12 line bolt directly onto the T12, so OEMs don't need a separate accessory catalog.

Integrated pressure relief option. Non-adjustable cartridge relief valves can be built into the motor end cap, with selectable settings at 280, 300, 350, 380, 400, or 420 bar, to protect the motor and the main circuit from short-duration pressure spikes.

BT brake (overcenter) valve. An optional overcenter valve mounts directly to the main port flange to prevent overspeed in open-circuit applications — for example, when a tracked machine is descending a slope.

FV flushing valve. Supplies cooling flow to the motor case, which is typically needed when the T12 is running at sustained high speed or high power.

    Shaft and Seal Options

Both frame sizes use DIN 5480 splined shafts, available in two sizes per frame (standard and heavy-duty spline options), and either NBR (nitrile) or FPM (fluorocarbon, high-temperature) shaft seals depending on the drain fluid temperature the application will see.

    Typical Applications

The T12's spec sheet and control philosophy point squarely at heavy mobile equipment where track drives need both crawl-speed torque and travel-speed efficiency in the same package.

    Example: Excavator Track Drive

An excavator digging in confined quarters needs slow, controllable, high-torque track movement to hold position while the boom works. When repositioning across a site, the same machine benefits from a faster travel speed. A T12-080 mounted in the final-drive housing lets the operator toggle between those two states without switching motors or adding a second gear stage — the pilot signal handles the shift.

    Example: Forestry Equipment

Feller bunchers, skidders, and forwarders operate on uneven forest floors where torque at low speed is critical for traction, but moving between cutting zones benefits from a quicker travel mode. The T12's two-position control matches that duty cycle directly.

Example: Dozer and Loader Track Systems

Dozers and other tracked earthmoving machines see similarly bimodal duty cycles — pushing loads at low speed, then repositioning quickly — making the T12 series a common fit in these drivetrains as well.

Q1: Is the T12 a good fit outside of track drives?

A1: Parker designs and markets the T12 specifically for track-drive duty cycles. Applications needing continuously variable displacement or a wider operating range are typically better served by the fully variable V12 or V14 motors in the same product family.

Q2: Can the T12 run in both directions?

A2: Yes. Like the V12 and V14 it's derived from, the T12 is bi-directional — reversing which main port is pressurized reverses shaft rotation.

Q3: What is the price and delivery time of the T12 hydraulic motor?

A3: The specific price and delivery time will be provided based on the specific model you provide.

Q4: How to purchase a T12 hydraulic motor?

A4: You can visit https://www.baolilaihydraulic.com/contact/ to contact us and purchase our products through various methods.
